OPLNova Overview

Welcome to the OPLNova (ps2_manager) documentation. OPLNova is a modern, open-source application designed to simplify the management of your PlayStation 2 game library for use with Open PS2 Loader (OPL).

Did you know?

OPLNova automatically fetches high-quality game covers and metadata from a dedicated API, saving you the hassle of manual searching.

Key Features

Automatic Metadata

Automatically identifies your games by their unique ID and fetches the correct title and artwork.

Smart Renaming

Renames ISO files to the OPL-standard GameID.Title.iso format automatically during installation.

Format Support

Full support for DVD ISOs and CD BIN/CUE files with built-in conversion to ISO.

VMC Management

Easily configure Virtual Memory Cards and OPL compatibility modes per game.

How it works

OPLNova acts as a bridge between your raw game images and your OPL library. When you add a game, it:

  1. Extracts the Serial: Reads the game's internal ID (e.g., SLUS_211.94).
  2. Queries API: Fetches the full title and official artwork from the OPLNova API.
  3. Installs: Moves or copies the file to your library, renaming it correctly.
  4. Configures: Creates a .cfg file with your preferred settings.
